Freestyle CEUs

Want to earn Continuing Education Units for a learning activity YOU choose? Now you can get credit for independent study using your choice of books, articles, audio recordings, or films that relate to your work as an MFT or LCSW. You can even choose the number of CEU’s.

This is an easy way to earn CEU’s at your own pace, while pursuing your own interests. In addition, your work will get personal, thoughtful attention from a colleague who’s an experienced trainer, consultant, and BBS-approved CEU Provider.

(And because the course is completed via the internet, the BBS counts the units not as self-study, but as part of the 24 minimum interactive units required in each licensure period. If you do choose to send the questionnaire by postal mail, you can still receive credit for self-study units.)

First, complete your learning activity and complete the form below. (Or you can email your answers to the questions. If you print out the questions and send them by postal mail, you can count the CEUs only as self-study.

Next, send your payment ($7 per CEU) via www.PayPal.com to BJCourtney@earthlink.net or mail your check to Jeanne Courtney, MFT, POB 453, El Cerrito, CA 94530. Sending the payment by postal mail will not affect the type of CEUs.

On the date your payment and this questionnaire have both been received, I will send you a document via email (postal mail if you prefer), certifying that you earned the CEU’s as of that date.

These CEU courses meet the qualifications for continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Number of CEUs = one CEU per hour for the learning activity, PLUS 1 CEU for completing these questions.

Relevant to your scope of practice = helping people achieve more adequate, satisfying, and productive marriage and family adjustments (MFT), or social adjustments (LCSW). For complete descriptions of each scope of practice, see pages 15 and 65 of this BBS document:

You can only receive CEUs once for the same activity.

To receive CEUs for this activity, your form and payment must be received in the same licensure renewal period in which you did the entire activity.
